Although I have rededicated my life to Christ, nobody ever said the Christian walk was easy. Last week I was dealing with a personal issue and feeling extremely distrought. I found myself asking some of the same questions you may have pondered. If God is good, why do bad things happen to good people? Why is there so much evil in the world? You get the picture. I went and found a quiet place to pray and poured my heart out to God asking for answers. The very next morning, I got to work early and fired up my computer. I get a devotional e-mailed to me daily (http://www.odb.org/), sometimes I read it, sometimes I don't. I felt an unusual burden to read it first thing, so I did. The title of it was "A Good God", and you can read it here: http://www.rbc.org/devotionals/our-daily-bread/2010/03/17/devotion.aspx.
It was exactly what I needed at that time. I thought, hmmmmm, that's weird and more than coincidental. I worked through the morning and went out for lunch. During my lunch break, I decided to go to a local park and unwind while listening to the radio. I pulled into the park, turned off my truck, turned on Moody radio (a Christian radio station), and right on cue the host said, "today's guest will be answering your questions about where God is during hard times"! Here's the link from that day: http://www.moodyradio.org/brd_ProgramDetail.aspx?id=48805
Wow, the hair stood up on my arms and I knew undeniably that God was indeed speaking to me about my concerns. Are you in the middle of a storm in your life? Pray to God that he will see you through it and believe that he will. I have experienced His perfect peace and know he is a good and can be trusted. Turn to him, trust him, He won't let you down.
